Don't Fear, Lafayette — Comic Con Is Coming Back in 2027

GatorVerse Comic Con announces inaugural July 17, 2027 event at the Heymann Center, bringing comics, collectibles, gaming, cosplay and pop culture back to Acadiana.

GatorVerse Comic Con welcomes credentialed journalists, bloggers, podcasters, and social media content creators to cover the event. A limited number of press badges are available. Please review the eligibility guidelines below before applying.

Eligibility Guidelines

Traditional Media / Press: Must represent an active newspaper, magazine, TV, radio, or online news outlet. No minimum audience size required, but outlet affiliation must be verifiable.

Bloggers: Must operate an active, publicly accessible blog with a consistent publishing history covering comics, pop culture, gaming, or related topics.

Social Media Influencers: Minimum of 2,500 followers/subscribers on your primary platform (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, or X), with content regularly focused on comics, cosplay, pop culture, gaming, or local Acadiana events.

Podcasters: Minimum average of 500 downloads/plays per episode, or at least 10 published episodes demonstrating an active, ongoing show.

GatorVerse Comic Con, LLC reserves the right to waive minimum thresholds at its discretion for local Acadiana creators and community partners, and to approve or deny any application.

Total press badges available: 20 (limited; approved on a rolling basis).

Press badge approval is at the discretion of GatorVerse Comic Con, LLC and is subject to the eligibility guidelines above, the application deadline of July 3, 2027, and badge availability (20 total). Approved applicants will receive credential pickup instructions prior to the event.
